Resilient Economy

Policy, Place, People, and Planet

From Runaway to Resilience

Resilient Economy CIC is a “Think and Do Tank” dedicated to progressive economic thought, education, and community action. We bring together economists, campaigners, and citizens to challenge the myths of the economic “iron laws” and build practical, resilient alternatives.

Our Core Belief: Economics can be different

The economy isn’t an immutable force of nature; it is a human-made system that we have the power to redesign. We believe:

  • The Economy is Malleable: If it was designed to benefit the few, it can be redesigned to serve the many.
  • Public Money for Public Good: Diminishing public power creates dependency on private interests. We advocate for reclaiming our collective resources.
  • Beyond Growth: We move past the “growth-at-all-costs” trap toward a Wellbeing Economy that respects our planet’s boundaries

The Four Pillars of Resilience

Policy

Crisis: Responding to ecological and socio-economic crises through bold and progressive economic policy.

Place

Sustainability: Local and national economics that support community wealth building.

Planet

Nature: Economic and nature based solutions within our planet’s ecological boundaries.

People

Systems: Recognising that people thrive when economic, social and political systems work together.
